iPhone 1.0 you can get used and put your prepaid SIM card into it. The iPhone that comes out July 11 will ONLY be available through the purchase of a 2 year contract.
The old iPhone had you purchase it and activate it at home, where crackers were able to bypass registration and skip activation.
The new iPhone will not leave an Apple or ATT store without a 2 year contract with data plan.

No, I don't think so. I think it only comes with a 2 year contract. I wish though….
