can i have a seperate itunes account from my sister?

my sister has had a ipod and itunes for awhile now, and my friend wants to buy me an ipod, just to be nice, and i was wondering if there was anyway to have 2 totally sperate accounts, or is it just through playlists? can you tell me anyway i can? because i really want this ipod. and if you have to do it through playlists, can you add videos to your playlist? because shed be getting me a video one…so whats the deal with itunes?
