Deleting Songs from iTunes?

Ok so I deleted a bunch of iTunes songs but i didnt remember to uncheck them before deleting them so that they would be permanatly deleted. How to I find them so I can uncheck them and delete them so that they're off my iPod? Because I deteted a bunch of songs from my iPod that I didn't want on and it took a wicked long time aand when I pluged my iPod in the songs didn't et deleted from my iPod but they're not in my iTunes playlist. What do I do? I want the songs off my iPod
