Help downloading itunes on computer?

just got a Toshiba laptop and use Windows Vista. I'm trying to download iTunes. I tried downloading it from the website and when the one window it said to run or save i picked save and made an itunes setup folder. Now whenever i try to install the itunes setup it says "unable to install the GEAR driver set at this time. GEARAspiWDM service used by the GEAR driver set is scheduled to be deleted during the next system reboot. Please reboot the system and run iTunes again". What does it mean by reboot the system? the computer? I dont know i just wanna know how to download iTunes
Also whenever it is done downloading i click on the iTunes icon on the desktop it just says "itunes is having a problem, looking for solution". So after that it just says to go to apple to fix the problem and whenever i click on the link to apple it just says to upgrade itunes even though i updated itunes already!
