How compatible is Ubuntu with things like Windows Live Messenger, iTunes, AOL etc?

I'm thinking about installing it but want to know if these wills till run. As well as things like Adobe Acrobat, computer games etc.
About AOL i'm meaning the actual AOL software as well. Not just the AIM client. Probably the most important thing.

What do you think Is best for me to do, keeping in mind I need these programs basically (though iTunes is fine, read about Amorak and it sounds better and easier) Keep my XP or go to Ubuntu, or install them both?
