How do I put music from my i-pod onto my computer on itunes?

April 4th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I got an I-pod and bought about 60 songs, 6 T.V episodes, 2 music videos, and 1 movie on itunes. Recently our computer got cleaned and everything on it got deleted. Everything I had bought was already on it. I just downloaded itunes again, and bought 5 new songs, but it says that I cant sync the songs into my I-pod without deleting all the stuff on my I-pod I already had!! So, how do I put songs onto my itunes from my I-pod, or how do I sync new stuff from itunes onto my ipod without deleting the data already on it?

When the notice pops up that says "So-So's iPod is synced with another iTunes library, yada yada yada…" theres a button at the bottom that says "Transfer Purchases." If you click that it will transfer everything you bought from you're iPod into iTunes.

if its a touch/ phone you could just FTP and copy paste the songs in your lib. Assuming its not simply update to new version of tunes and plug in. It should have the option to sync from iPod when syncing. I would make sure you get you songs back on your comp before syncing again. I would talk to the cleanersig you can't manage

you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod copying softwares(mac/windows) http://www.ipodtocomputer.net , hope this helps.

this is simple - there are various programs that will help you do it like the freeware iDump (which unfortunately doesn't recognise foreign letters) all the rest like iPodRip, etc. you have to pay for but usually you can use it for 14 days.

But there is a manual way and it's completely free - I don't know if it works for movies or other stuff (but in theory it should)

Plug in your iPod if iTunes opens up shut it down immediately to avoid auto-sync. Then open my computer open iPod and make sure in folder options that hidden objects are shown and then just open the Ipod_control folder - there you'll find all the files and just copy it all in one folder on your pc - disconnect your iPod and load iTunes and then just select import folder and select the folder where you've saved all the files.

      Hope that helps. :)
