How do I put videos on my iPod nano without removing any song??

I have tried syncing the videos but whenever I do that, all the songs are deleted and I have to put them back time and again. Worst, the mp4 format videos I put never appear on the MOVIES playlist in iTunes, they only enter the iPod when I sync them. I don't want to delete my songs, how do I do it then?
