Yeah..that question is pretty self-explanatory. Pleeze help.
Ok, so whenever I plug in my ipod nano, I go into itunes. Then, I click on the little arrow to the left of the name of my ipod, and all of these files are listed..Such as, my play lists, audiobooks, etc..So I click on the one that says " music" and it shows all the music that is on my ipod, but it does not let me edit them at all! The whole list is in grey. Which means..I cannot touch it..SO..what do I do? None of your answers have helped me yet.Sorry.

Take them off your playlist. (Or make one) Then click on your ipods picture icon and click on "music" then uncheck the old playlist.

Uncheck them in iTunes and then re-sync your iPod. That will leave them in iTunes, but won't load them to the iPod. If you ever want to hear the tune in iTunes, just play it.

If your iPod settings is not on manually manage music and videos, then it will be a complete mirror of your iTunes library. If you want to keep some songs in your library but not on your iPod, change the settings of your iPod to manually manage music and videos. This is in options when you have your iPod conected to the computer and have clicked on the iPod itself. You can then delete music from your iPod and not from your music library.
If that was not the answer to your question, you might be asking: how do I take music off my iPod and onto a computer. This is simple. Download iDump (it is 1MB and keeps all the song names and album artwork). It does not delete the somgs, or data, when you move the songs from your iPod to the computer. iDump is free. I dont know the website, but you can Google it, Good Luck

you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod copying softwares(mac/windows) http://www.ipodtocomputer.net , hope this helps.
