How much can I buy a new or refurbished 1st generation iPhone (EDGE) directly from apple for?

I heard that Apple was selling refurbished 1st generation iPhones $100 cheaper than retail (before the 3G was released). Now that the 3G is released, how much does it cost to buy a 1st generation iPhone through Apple (8GB or 16GB)?

Ebay's prices are still sky high…..
