My ipod is screwing up REALLY REALLY bad! What do I do?

First, it was deleting songs and photos (all of Utada Hikaru ^______^) and said they have NEVER existed on my ipod. So, I restored it. BUT, now it won't let me drag any songs to it and now it's all completely blank.

It's an ipod nano, and I don't have the receipt. If I had the receipt, I would've sold it earlier and got a NEW ipod nano (they came out as soon as I bought my ipod) with the video. sigh. I could've been watching anime on it!

Anyway! How do I get my songs and photos back on it?! I've tried and tried but I can't get them on there. I've tried synching from playlists, but they still won't download to it.

But I would try to sell it anyway, but it says my first and last name on it and says "Flippin to the Beat" because my mom engraved it for me when I bought it (I didn't want her to to be honest) but I used to be a gymnast, until I was injured too badly that I had a migrane for 2 months. Anyway! I need help

yes I know it's cheesy what she put but oh well.
I found out that the warranty JUST ended two days ago. MY LUCK huh. lol

But how do I give it back to the apple company if it's not in warranty and I have no proof of purchasing it? I can't take it to walmart cuz I didn't buy it there, and I can't even sell it on ebay cuz it's engraved with MY name on it. AHH! I don't even know if my parents WILL LET me sell it! I'll go ask them
PS. What's the "other" mean on your space? Like the ipod gb are taken up by Music, Photos, Contacts, and free space. But what's the "other"?
