Are you getting an error message when you try to sync them? Try syncing one again. This time while you are syncing click on device>status. Is anything going on? Is it converting while it is syncing?
Try converting one of them to wmv with a resolution no larger than 320×240. See if it will sync then. I've never had problems with that format. On the other hand I've found mpeg-4 to be a pain to put on the Zune.
