A torrent is a file sharing or distributing network. It basically is multiple people sending bits of one file to over time form the different parts. it is not what I'd call the most usable system at times because you require at least one user or seed as its called with the file. Popular torrent sites are http://thepiratebay.com and http://demonoid.com. Also, when downloading you also upload as well.
